Himalaya Holy Mother Tarama [green tara ]
BIOGRAPHY
TARAMA
“Darshan” means meeting a master. It is the spark felt deeply when our minds are open to the Guru. In that moment if it is possible for our consciousness to awaken, then we can enjoy real living.
Tarama was born in Seoul, Korea on May 17, 1952. Since her birth she has experienced many spiritual visions of Buddha’s and Bodhisattvas though her third eye. As a child her parents could not understand what prompted her to sing, dance, and offer flowers to deities that she fashioned in the garden or on the playground. Her parents took notice of how she would play with other children in this way and, at the age of 5, thought if would be a good idea to send her to dancing school. Tarama stayed with dance and eventually graduated from Kyung Hee University in Seoul with a Master degree Korean folk dance. This included traditional dance as well as Zen forms.
In 1983 she received her Ph. D. in Classic Arts from South Baylor University in California. She then taught at Kyung Joo University. In 1985-86 Tarama toured over 18 countries performing traditional Korean dances and shortly afterwards took vows as Buddhist nun. She continued to travel, however, this time on pilgrimage to such places as the Silk road in China to Tibet, Thailand, Japan, India, and Nepal. Since then she has spent three years on retreat in the Himalayas at Rishkesh, Gangoetri, and forms.
While in South India, during a 100 day meditation retreat at Sera-The Monastery, Tarama had a vision of God that was unfamiliar to her. A subsequent merging of consciousness with the vision revealed itself as Green Tara. Tarama was able to question Green Tara who gave her blessings, asked Tarama to help poverty stricken Tibetans and inspired her to dance and perform the Green Tara puja. She later did this in front of 4000 monks at Sera-The Monastery. Presently, Tarama channels, consults Green Tara and gives Darshan blessings. At BudhanathStupa in Kathmandu. She blessed pilgrims for around the world and her a wonderful response during a Tara Puja.

Green Tara Sadhana
Visualization of the Guru
Above the crown of my head I visualize a lotus and moon seat. Upon this is mu kind root Guru who is oneness with Arya Tara, mother of all the enlightened beings and the great treasury of compassion.
At my Guru’s heart is Arya Tara in female aspect, green in color and seated in the dancing posture within a rainbow bubble. Her left hand is bent and her right outstretched. Her left hand is at her heart in the mudra symbolizing the Triple Gem in it she holds blue upali flower. Her right hand is in the mudra of granting sublime realization. She is beautiful adorned with jewel ornaments and scarves and bears the symbols
OM AHHUNG.
Absorbing the Wisdom Beings
At her heart is a lotus and moon seat upon which stands a radiant green letter TAM, emitting rays of green light which invoke the Wisdom Beings of the ten directions. They are all absorbed into Arya Tara with whose essence they unite.
Request
“Please remain above my head until I receive enlightenment.”
Dissolution of the Guru and Generation of the Deity
My root Guru dissolves into green light which flows into me. Instantly my wrong conceptions that I and
other phenomena are self-existent and my dualistic mind and its views disappear, becoming completely empty. Not even a trace of them remains. I concentrate one pointedly on this empty state with wisdom that is indistinguishably one with Guru Tara’s blissful omniscient Mind.
Then out of that emptiness, my wisdom manifests instantly as Arya Tara’s Holy Body, seated upon a louts and moon seat. At my heart is another lotus and moon seat upon which stands the letter TAM at the centre and the letters of the mantra, reading clocking, at the edge:
“Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha”
The TAM and the mantra are manifestations of Guru Tara’s Holy Mind, with which my mind is totally united.
Visualization for mantra recitation
Green light radiates from all the letters, spreading in every direction. It purifies the negative karma, gross
delusions and subtle obscuration to Omniscience of all sentient being, who then become Tara. Again green light is emitted, the rays bearing manifold offerings to the six transcendental senses of all the Buddhas and sentient beings who become Tara. The enlightened beings are extremely pleased and shower down in the form of a great rain of light rays, the superlative qualities of the Buddha Tara’s Holy Body, Speech and Mind-Omniscient Wisdom, Supreme Power and Infinite Compassion.
As I recite the mantra, I absorb this rain and am blessed by it.
Dedication
“May I quickly become Arya Tara
And lead each and every sentient being
Into the enlightened realm
Because of these merits.”
May the supreme jewel bodhicitta
That has not arisen, arise and growl;
And may that which has arisen not diminish
But increase more and more.
In all my rebirths may I never be separated from perfect
Spiritual Masters and enjoy the magnificent Dharma.
Completing all qualities of the stages and paths,
May I quickly achieve the state of Vajrachara.
